SWD Tech offers Gentoo Linuxfor sale in order to aid the growth of GNU and free software in Africa. SWD Tech offers Gentoo Linux in the following formats at this time (January 2004):

• v1.4 - i386 binaries (2 CD set) - (suitable for all Intel, AMD or clone processors from Pentium I onwards)

Each disk set costs R75.00.

UPDATE - 1 April 2004 - We have fixed the price of our Gentoo disk sets at R75.

UPDATE - 30 March 2004 - We have decided to reduce the cost of our Gentoo disk sets in order to make it easier for all to experience freedom of choice. This discounting has yet to be fixed but will come into effect on 1 April 2004.

UPDATE - 20 January 2004 - Considering that Gentoo Linux has a different distribution philosophy to other Linux distributions we highly recommend reading this page on the official site before continuing.

UPDATE - 5 January 2004 - Unfortunately we no longer enjoy the preferential treatment we once received from our couriers. This means that we can no longer offer you next day delivery to your door at an acceptable price. This service has been replaced with a counter-to-door service offered by Speed Service Couriers, at the same price of R50.00 Note that this is still below our cost - SSC charge ~R53 per disk set by weight. SSC indicate that this service takes between 48 and 60 hours (2-2.5 days) for delivery to take place. SSC offer parcel tracking as an added benefit.

How to get it?
Orders outside of South Africa - email us for details

1. Decide how you'd like the package delivered. The fees quoted below are valid for one to three disk sets per order.

2. Email us, indicating the number of disk sets you require, the chosen delivery method, and your contact details.
3. We will contact you to provide banking details, confirm your dispatch address and complete the transaction.
